    VQ Hepburn

Bought the Hepburn because I wanted a radio that I could take out into the garden with me but also use in the house when the weather is rubbish. Seemed to offer the best of both and although it was a little bit more money than I’d planned to spend I went with it.

I understand that there was an older model- this one is labelled “Mark 2”. Older one seems to have got a bit of stick from reviewers but I haven’t had any of the problems they did- must have fixed everything with this one! I've already had a lot of use out of it and I'm glad that I made the right decision with my purchase.

+Sounds great, very rich and can be turned up loud without getting crackly
    +Love how it looks!
+Super portable, lightweight without compromising on sound
+Acts as a bluetooth speaker as well. This was what made me willing to spend a bit more on the Hepburn

-Battery pack comes separate- it’s clearly designed to be portable so would make sense if it had a built in battery

Other than that there’s not really any downsides to this radio. It does everything I want it to and saves on having a separate radio and bluetooth speaker. I would happily recommend the Hepburn. Ligo were very helpful as well and the delivery was very quick.

    Perfect kitchen radio!

This was a great buy. Needed a new kitchen radio and wanted something that had bluetooth as well to reduce the amount of extra speakers we had floating about the house. The sound is excellent, the reception seems to be better than the radio it replaced (an ancient Pure) and love the way it looks. Very happy and would recommend!

    Top marks

    The good:
This sounds very good with impressive clarity from DAB, bluetooth or via the aux input. Tuning both DAB and FM is very straightforward unlike some other machines like this I have tried. Bluetooth pairing is similarly painless. The sound fills the room (with the volume cranked up a bit) in a way that you could easily mistake for speakers at least double its size in the room somewhere. For such a compact unit the sound really is quite impressive. I had been considering the equivalent from Roberts, which is £80 more expensive and so glad that I opted for this in the end.

    The bad:
I would say that the only downside is setting the alarm. Press this, twice, turn the knob in just the right way, press again..., no, it's timed out, you messed it up and you have to start again. Repeat. Then repeat again. I gave up in the end...

    A superb radio.

A superb radio. I'm very impressed with the sound quality, which is much better than my previous Pure Evoke radio. The reception is very reliable as well. My only issue is the android app, which I haven't been able to get to work with the radio yet.

    Great radio/bluetooth speaker

We have the Hepburn on all the time in the kitchen. I use it both for listening to the radio and streaming via bluetooth. Fairly solidly built and has a nice well rounded sound. I wasn't expecting incredible sound from just a kitchen radio but the bass and treble are both very good. Holds a decent connection to bluetooth devices, even if the device is in another room. I had a bit of trouble getting it set up at first because the instructions aren't very clear, but after a phone call to Ligo they helped me to sort things out.

Really glad that I bought the Hepburn.

Really glad that I bought the Hepburn. It lives in our kitchen and gets used every single day. The bluetooth feature is so handy since it means I don't have to take standalone bluetooth speakers around the house with me. Sound quality is good, easy to control, and a great price for what you get.

Big fan of this radio. Has a lovely vintage style and the sound is better than I was expecting for the price.

    Fab!

Couldn't be happier with this. Such a classy radio! Sounds fab and is so easy to use. It also feels very well made. Great that it has Bluetooth as well as DAB. I would certainly recommend Ligo as they were so helpful when I needed to make a change to my order.

Very good sound quality but not completely user friendly.

Nice design with a nice range of colours available.

Setup was quite trick though as the included instructions were not sufficient and in very small print as well. I had some trouble storing presets as the process seemed to be hit and miss. I phoned Ligo and they were very helpful in guiding me through things but it would have been better if it was all explained outright in the instructions.

The selection of equaliser presets is good but I used the user option to adjust the tone to my now less than perfect hearing. I would have like there to be an option to adjust the mid-range as well. Not the easiest radio to choose presets on either as you need to scroll through them to find the one you want.

Overall I am pleased with the radio as it has good sound levels and tone. But there are still some things to fix in version III.
